Making Canvassing Very Simple

So many agents make canvassing seem much more difficult than it really is. Canvassing can really be easy. Most of the time the problem is simply the resistance we have to doing it. Once you are on the phone calling a few people or knocking on a couple of doors you usually then feel pretty good about doing the canvassing--while you are still in the middle of doing it! Just notice how this works for you. Compare how you feel about canvassing before you actually do it with the feeling you have after you've been doing it for 15-30 minutes or so. After you've been doing it for 15-30 minutes or more you may find that you're actually enjoying the process! What a concept!

If you feel you should be doing more canvassing than you currently are simply make one more canvassing call each day than you are right now. Many people overwhelm themselves and set canvassing goals that are way above what they are currently doing now. Then they feel horrible when they don't meet these goals. Just agree to make one more call a day than you are right now.

Having been an agent for many years myself I know that for some of you this means you will be making a total of one call a day! That's OK. You have to start somewhere. And one more call a day translates to contacting 260-365 more prospects a year than you are right now. Contacting this many more people a year will definitely translate to more listings, more transactions, and more commission dollars in your pocket.
